Here are a couple of tips for you who are planning a trip on the go this summer ☀️ Here you will find many concrete examples of what you can eat without having access to a refrigerator. Great to take with you if you're planning a holiday in Norway with Primus, for example.

We hope the tips are helpful and inspiring!

Breakfast and lunch

For breakfast and lunch, it is easy to have some crackers and/or bread available. These from Semper, for example, are low FODMAP for up to 3 crackers.

Spreads that can be stored at room temperature are, for example: spread cheese, mackerel in tomato, peanut butter, strawberry jam, raspberry jam and cured ham. Double-check the product in Noba to make sure you have a topping that is OK.

If you need a snack on a trip, we are happy to bring slices of bread from Det Glutenfrie Verksted and spreadable cheese! This takes up little space in the bag and fills you up well. The bread rolls stay juicy until they are eaten.

You can also spread your lunch in advance. Here we have used the bread called HAVRE from Fria, which can be found in the freezer. We have found this bread at several shops, including Joker and Rema 1000. On this trip, it was topped with butter, hamburger back, white cheese and cucumber.

Another option for lunch is yogurt and pudding! This one from YT is lactose-free and can be stored at room temperature. Available in both vanilla and chocolate flavours, and can be found in most grocery chains.

Dinner

If you're going to cook dinner on the primus, there's a lot you can cook! It may require a bit of planning, but it tastes incredibly good when it can be enjoyed outdoors.

A favorite with us is fried chicken mixed with Spicy Mexican from Bay's kitchen. (We also added leftover cooked rice from a previous dinner, but you can skip that if you don't have it available.) All the dinner sauces we sell in Noba Shop can be kept at room temperature and are therefore perfect to take on a trip!

For serving, we used gluten-free pouches: There are several to choose from here, so we recommend that you scan the product in Noba or search for "tortilla cheese" to see which types are low FODMAP.

In addition to the sauces found in Noba Shop, we also offer ingenious soups in portion packs. These can also be stored at room temperature, and they only need a quick boil and they are ready to serve. The bags have a simple opening function that does not require scissors.

If you are extra hungry, you can of course add other ingredients to the soup; low FODMAP pasta (also sold in Noba Shop, or can be bought in many shops), chicken, vegetables or eggs?

A tip for sausages that are low FODMAP are these from Gilde. They can be chopped and used with tomato sauce from Noba Shop, or eaten alone. Juicy and good!

The pasta we sell in Noba Shop is of very good quality and does not crumble during cooking as many other types often do. Many are already sold out, but we have two types in stock if you are quick to order 😊 They contain no additives and are made from good quality raw materials. Here we made pasta with minced meat and tomato sauce, with extra carrot and celeriac in the sauce.

Snacks

If you're going on a trip, it's always nice to have some snacks in your bag. The milk chocolates from Green Star are lactose-free and low FODMAP, and can therefore be enjoyed on a trip for extra energy. Cookie Buttons (sold in the Noba Shop) are also perfect travel food! They are sweetened with maple syrup instead of refined sugar, and as a bonus, new lab tests show that this is low FODMAP throughout the package.

We have the variant with coconut and ginger in stock, but note that the version with cocoa is now sold out.

If you are going for a drive and stop by a petrol station, there is unfortunately not that much low FODMAP food to choose from. We recommend that you rather pop into a grocery store or plan in advance, so you avoid quick meals that potentially cause stomach ache. However, what we have seen found in quite a few petrol stations is this milkshake (comes in several flavours)! It is both lactose-free and low FODMAP.

We hope you find these tips useful and we hope you have a great summer!

Summer greetings from us in Noba ☀️
